About YourWatts

We do not sell solar. We compare it.

YourWatts was built on a simple premise: the information needed to make a good solar purchasing decision is scattered across manufacturer websites, installer quotes, and government databases — and most comparison sites are funded by installer lead generation, which skews recommendations toward high-margin products rather than the right ones.

We compare solar panels, batteries, inverters, and charge controllers using data from manufacturer datasheets, not marketing copy. Our configurator and calculator are built on transparent engineering formulas — the same math a solar engineer uses — not optimistic estimates designed to generate leads.

Why this matters beyond your roof

Utility-scale solar is important. But it loses 8–15% in transmission before reaching your home. Home solar produces at the point of use, with zero grid losses. A home battery means you use what you produce rather than exporting it cheaply and buying it back expensively.

More importantly: there is no path to a clean economy that doesn't run through individual decisions. The grid decarbonizes household by household. Going solar is personal economics and civic responsibility at the same time — and with current technology and state incentives, the numbers are strongly positive.

The economy becomes green one household at a time.

YourWatts covers the US market at a state level — every state has different sun hours, electricity rates, net metering policies, and incentive programs. We also run a parallel EU site covering European markets country by country.

Some product and installer links on this site are affiliate links. We receive a referral fee if you proceed — this does not affect rankings or recommendations. See our methodology for full details.
